Our Story
FROM DELL'S ENTERPRISE FLOORS TO THE STARTUPS THAT NEEDED A BETTER STORY
1999-2014
The Dell Years
Fifteen years inside one of the world’s largest technology companies. Started in PC sales, moved to technical sales covering servers and storage, then became a brand manager for enterprise products.
From 2012 to 2014 worked in the software group scaling Dell-acquired startups, including helping grow a virtualization company called Scalent from 5 to 100 software sales reps against an aggressive $400M target.
The methodology built to do that work became the foundation of The Story Architect.
2014-2020
Building the Practice
Left Dell in 2014 to work directly with the startups and B2B tech companies that needed the most help translating complex technology into buyer-ready stories.
Early clients helped sharpen the focus: the biggest challenge was always the tech-to-human translation. Solidified three core client types: tech startups, B2B SaaS, and MSPs.
Built out the Story Blueprint, PACES process, and Progressive Persuasive Pyramid as the core methodology.
Began supporting early stage founders through MaRS, Altitude Accelerator, Spark Centre, and other incubator programs.
2020- 2025
Fractional CMO & the AI Shift
Expanded into fractional CMO engagements for Series A to mid-market B2B tech companies, embedding directly into client teams across SaaS, cloud, identity, and security.
Added AI-assisted content execution to the practice, combining human strategic oversight with AI acceleration to help clients produce at scale without sacrificing voice or credibility.
Current clients include Envision IT & BlokSec, where Kevin serves as acting CMO, and ongoing work with Pellera supporting their Riverbed partnership.
